Hometown pride, hockey passion to be on full display at October 3NHL® Pre-Season Game Stirling-Rawdon, ON – August 9, 2012 – The Stirling-Rawdon Local Organizing Committee today announced the launch of the Kraft Hockeyville 2012 public ticket draw. Residents of the Township of Stirling-Rawdon and families from select surrounding communities who have children registered in Stirling sports programs are eligible to submit an entry for tickets to the October 3, 2012 NHL® Pre-Season game between the Toronto Maple Leafs® and Columbus Blue Jackets®. An NHL Team Practice Session is tentatively scheduled to occur and be open to the public on October 3, 2012, to be confirmed September 6, 2012. NHL® pre-season game to be played at Yardmen Arena, allowing more people in the community to experience live NHL action Stirling-Rawdon, ON – May 9, 2012 – The Township of Stirling-Rawdon, winners of Kraft Hockeyville 2012, announced today that the 2012-2013 NHL® pre-season game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Columbus Blue Jackets will be played in Belleville, Ontario at Yardmen Arena on October 3, 2012. Members of the Stirling-Rawdon Local Organizing Committee made the decision, in collaboration with the Kraft Hockeyville partners, to move the game to Belleville to allow a greater number of people from the community to celebrate the win and enjoy the game live. At 10:48 p.m. Saturday night, Cindy Brandt, chair of the Stirling Hockeyville committee, received CBC’s Hockeyville cup from former Toronto Maple Leafs’ Darcy Tucker and lifted it high above thousands of supporters at the village’s arena. “This is been the most amazing experience,” said and ecstatic Brandt while celebrating Stirling’s victory. “I cannot believe how many people came tonight to celebrate our journey. The Stirling Schools are looking for 200 boxes of Kraft Dinner as they are attempting to do a domino course around the schools. If you have any to spare, please drop off at one of the schools or send to school with your kids with a note on it.
